It's a good day in the GLAMOUR office when a hotly-anticipated product drops. This week's edition comes in the form of three gel bronzers from Jones Road Beauty. Founded by Bobbi Brown celebrity makeup artist and brand founder, these bronzers are formulated with that same natural-looking but dewy finish we are familiar with the other Jones Road products.
Although these gel bronzers are only set to launch on June 15th, we got first dibs so we can tell you if they are actually worth your money. Let's talk about the formula. The Gel Bronzer is a sheer, lightweight skin tint that gives you that perfect, natural-looking suntanned glow. And the best part? It's so lightweight it feels like you're wearing nothing at all.
Now, let's dive into the shades. We tried all three flexible shades across five different skin tones. First up, we have Light, a golden bronze that adds a subtle warmth to your complexion. If you're looking for something with a bit more depth, Medium is your go-to though. It's a reddish bronze that gives you a sun-kissed look with a hint of rosy goodness. And for those who love a rich, deep bronze, or have dark complexions, then naturally, Dark delivers. It's a chocolate bronze that adds instant warmth and definition to your face and it does stretch to deep skin tones, but it's advised you layer up to really see the pigment pop through.
They come in a cute squeeze tube and are easy to apply wether you're using your fingers or a brush. You can apply it directly to your cheeks, nose, forehead, and neck – you know, those areas where the sun naturally hits your face for that full bronzed or contour effect.
Bobbi Brown herself tells us: “You can use Gel Bronzer on bare skin, mixed with your moisturiser”, so that's exactly what we did. Here are five GLAMOUR staffers honest thoughts on Jones Road Beauty newest launch.

I never used to be super loyal to bronzers, it was always hard to find ones that would cater to dark skin tones that didn't look ashy or grey, or ones that were simply dark enough. However, introducing bronzers to my makeup routine changed my makeup game. I'm looking for something warm, dewy and that will compliment my skin wether I'm wearing a full beat or for no makeup-makeup days where I go foundation free.
I'm a big fan of Jones Road so I expect big things. I'm glad to report that it did not disappoint. The texture is thick and creamy, and glides easily onto the skin, but it has a natural sheeny finish that will just enhance the natural contours of your skin. It really did give definition and warmth to my complexion with a very small drop of product and I think I'm little bit obsessed. Is this my new desert island product?

I love Jones Road's no-makeup-makeup approach and with us creeping closer into summer, this liquid bronzer couldn't have come at a better time. I used the tiniest bit of product as I didn't want to go too heavy on the first try, and that was enough to do the job. It blended in beautifully onto my skin (I only had a skin illuminator and blush on for context, so I can't speak to how it blends in on a full base) and it gave me the perfect balance of summery bronzed glow and natural lit-from-within skin. I'm definitely going to add this to my summer makeup routine and can't wait to use it in different ways (adding it to my moisturiser is next on my to-do list).

As with a lot of liquid makeup formulas, you have to act fast with this gel bronzer. The shade match was a little muddy for my pre-summer skin tone at the moment (get me on a sun lounger ASAP), but I managed to make it work by using the product sparingly and taking my time to diffuse it properly - a little goes a LONG way, trust me. The end result? I looked like I'd been away in Italy for a week. Truly a holiday in a bottle, it dried down quickly and didn't leave that tacky feeling I've experienced with other brands. I will be keeping this close at hand all season long.

When it comes to bronzers, I usually prefer the cream and liquid formulas, because they’re super easy to blend and deliver a more natural glowy finish. And when we’re talking cream and liquid complexion products, Jones Road is definitely ahead of the curve (seriously, the lip & cheek stick is one of my summer makeup staples).
As for the bronzer, I was excited about the shade (I opted for fair), as normally, some bronzers can look a bit too orange-y on my fair complexion. I loved the seamless blend and how weightless the gel-like consistency felt on the skin. One thing to note is that a little goes a long way, so a drop or two on the cheeks is more than enough for an everyday look. A solid contender among my favourite bronzers. (edited)

As someone who is a balm bronzer fan through and through, I was sceptical of the liquid-y format of this Jones Road number. Reader, I needn't have been. I found the key to application was to dot it onto my face - hollows of the cheeks, temples etc. – and then blend, blend, blend with a damp kabuki brush. The product gave a deep 'end of summer' type tan and, after a whole evening out with pals, it didn't separate or oxidise at. all. I love her! Will definitely be going in my holiday carry-on.
