On the same day that Boardwalk Empire scored 18 Emmy nominations, Nucky Thompson's meanie girlfriend was supposed to be in a New York court today to plead guilty to harassment for her March encounter with The City's Samantha Swetra.
But the presiding judge determined that she wanted more info about the alcohol counseling that's supposed to be part of the deal, so de la Huerta's day in court has been postponed until July 28.
In addition to being ordered to counseling, the actress is also due to be fined and sentenced to a day of community service. (We hope not as a candy striper.)
The 26-year-old was charged with third-degree assault and several other misdemeanors after leaving Swetra with a bloody nose and a gash in her leg during a heated exchange at the Standard Hotel in Manhattan, which apparently started after de la Huerta hit on Swetra's male companion. The reality-TV player has also sued de la Huerta for damages.
De la Huerta later explained to police that she was "a real actress," while Swetra was "a publicity-seeker, a fake actress," according to court documents.
Her lawyer initially maintained that his client was innocent, but...quite the plot twist, eh?
